Nuru is a romantic at heart. So when the sauve, handsome Moswen seeks her affections, she can't resist his charm. They elope with the hopes of starting their own pride. However, life isn't kind to them in the outskirts of the desert and securing hunting grounds is more difficult than they thought. Help comes to them in the form of the King of the Northern Desert Khalfani, who takes pity on the young couple. He allows them to join his pride (under certain, mutually beneficial conditions) and treats them as though they are a part of his family.
