This Is Your Test - Prize Art

This is a Looong overdue prize for who won a sketch from me in 's "GI Joe defects to Cobra" contest last year. Thanks for being patient, by the way. Sorry this took so long. I had another version if this sketch done ages ago, but hated it so much I never uploaded it. Then, I got myself the "GI Joe Field Manual" which has just about all the model sheets from the 80's cartoon! (all in black and white inks/sketches) I've never found a better resource for doing GI Joe fanart! I went on to sketch this version on Sunday and I'm sooo much happier with it. This was just supposed to be a sketch, but because I've been so slow in getting it done, I'll be inking and coloring this shortly.

The scene that inspired this sketch:
"This is it." The Baroness led Duke to a closed door that was guarded by two soldiers.
"Unlock the door and report to your post." She ordered them.

One of the soldiers swiped his badge-card across a wall panel and entered a security code. The small light changed from red to green, then the two guards quickly walked away.

She opened the door and motioned for Duke to follow her inside.

In the center of the small room was a hooded man firmly shackled to a chair by his wrists and ankles.

"What's this all about?" Duke asked her.

"This is your test, Duke." She pulled a .45 pistol from a holster on her right thigh and handed it to him.
