What's Happenin'? by Nala15 What's Happenin'? by Nala15
EDIT: This just broke the 220 :+fav: mark and is currently my most popular pic! Thank you everybody! (Uh-hem. Fixed a little something that was bothering me. Nala's teeth have a new outline color.)

Simba: Where should we go today, Nala?
Nala: It better NOT be anyplace dumb. :giggle:
Simba: Aww, come on! When have I ever taken you anyplace "dumb"?
Nala: Well... there was that one time with the termite mounds, and then there was that other time with that anteater you thought was a monster, and then there was--
Simba: Okay, okay! Pfft! You didn't need to ANSWER!

My half of a "Simba and Nala" art trade with :iconwren-felidae:. :D AND it doubles as a little tribute to my favorite Disney movie which has returned to theaters AND DVD!!! :squee:

Thanks so much for the trade, Wren! :D I hope you like it!
Here is her half:

Actually, I am REALLY proud about how this turned out. :aww: No refs for the poses, only for colors and the faces (to get them to look like Simba and Nala) and the background is completely handpainted except for the grass brush.

I've noticed something between baby, cub and adult Simba. How come Simba only has his mother's black ear tips when he is a cub, but not when we briefly see him as a baby or an adult? Am I the only one that has seen that?

You're not the only one. :aww: I think it's a "cub" thing. The ear rims developed on Simba as he got older (like his spots faded away, but the ear rims appeared), but then receeded when he became an adult (or were mostly covered by his mane). :XD: My guess too is that the ear rims would look silly on baby Simba. Likewise on adult Simba. :hmm: They just look funny there.

Yeah, but his mother Sarabi had the same thing going on. And, I noticed when he was talking to Rafiki that his eyes were completely white than yellow the whole time.

Yes, but she doesn't have a mane to cover them up. :aww:

Yeah... probably a coloring error.
