Your Heart is Right - Win-A-Date with Rehema

This took forever to post, I know, but the winners of the "Win-A-Date with Rehema" contest are finally here!!! In fact, this took me so long to get done, Rehema got a little mischievious and went out with more than just 3 girls. Naughty boy.

Adnari couldn't remember the last time she felt so relaxed, so at peace, so... happy. And for the moment, she didn't want to remember. All she wanted was the moment. Resting beside her companion for the evening - the dark-maned, red-brown lion Rehema - she realized they hadn't said anything to each other for a while. Not since they had climbed the big hill that was now behind them. Rehema had been determined to convince her to hike up there with him to watch the sunset. "The best view for miles," he'd called it. She was now glad she accepted, even if she had only just now caught her breath from the steep climb. That must be why they had both been silent for the last few minutes. Adnari decided it was about time that silence was broken. She turned to Rehema, who's already red-tinted coat looked even more red in the sun's last rays. "You were right," she said.

He turned to her, looking half startled, but recovered quickly. "It is a great view, isn't it?" he said, smiling.

She smiled back. "I already said you were right, you troublemaker." He chuckled and she shook her head. Then she rested her cin on her paws, returning her attention again to the sun's final, fiery dance of the evening. "But you know what's funny?" she asked.

"Hmm?"

"Right now, I can't remember the last time I was happy."

"That isn't very funny," he said with a smile in his voice.

She growled in mock annoyance. "Okay, I meant the interesting kind of 'funny.' What I'm trying to say is that my head is telling me that there was a time when I was this happy... you know... being with someone. But my heart's telling me that I can't be bothered to remember it right now. It's like it's just telling me to be happy. Even if it's just for right now."

Rehema looked at her for a moment, raising an eyebrow. Adnari started to wonder if he even knew what she was talking about. Lions..., she thought to herself. Suddenly, Rehema got to his feet. Almost as suddenly, he crouched over Adnari, and gently pressed his right ear against her ribcage while resting a paw on her side.

"What are you doing?" she asked, trying to keep from giggling. She craned her neck to look at him.

"Shh!" he hissed. He was quiet for a moment. Then he tipped his head up to look back at her.

When he didn't say anything, Adnari asked, "Well?"

"I was listening," Rehema said, smiling ever so slightly, "and I think your heart is right."

Adnari rested her chin on Rehema's head. His thick mane tickled her. "You're so funny sometimes," she said.

"As in the interesting kind of 'funny', I hope?" he said, sounding even more sincere than before. She just laughed and he laughed with her. For the time being, she decided to follow his advice.
